We are really pleased to hear that two of our Year 11 students have been selected to play Rugby for the England Community Lions U16s Squad.
Many thanks to Year 10 student Shahzaib Sayeed for acting as a young sports leader for the area Primary School Kwik Cricket qualifier games.
Our congratulations go to twelve of our Year 9 students who have successfully taken part in The Scholars Programme.
Back in 2021, the UK Government launched a competition to uncover visions of the future from the brightest student minds in the UK.
A group of up-and-coming female technologists had the opportunity to take part in the ‘Fujitsu: Girls in Technology’ live webinar event at the Academy.
We are delighted that the Academy has achieved the School Mental Health Award which is delivered by the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools. We have been awarded a Gold standard for our outstanding mental health and wellbeing provision.
Year 9 students of the Academy were given the opportunity to explore future career possibilities offered by apprenticeships when they took part in a workshop led by staff from Kirklees Council.
As part of World Book Day Academy students were able to take part in the fun of a Bring & Buy book sale that was held in the Academy’s library to promote children’s books and reading.
At the Academy we are using the digital software platform GCSEPod to enable all of our students to develop their learning through the vast range of online materials that the programme makes available to them.
At the Academy we have been offering students the opportunity to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Bronze Award for several years and it always proves very popular with our students.
We were extremely pleased to be able to welcome the return of our hugely popular Careers Fair to the Academy for the benefit of our students. The event proved extremely successful when more than 20 training providers were visited by hundreds of Academy students and their parents.
