Published 16/12/22During the autumn half term, we have been pleased to deliver two SMSC days at the Academy. Students in year 10 and 11 each had a specialist day which provided them with the opportunity to develop their knowledge of important societal issues and learn vital lifesaving skills. Throughout the day, students engage in various activities and attend presentations provided by a variety of external agency guest speakers. The purpose of the days was to enable students to develop their knowledge of wider issues relating to their Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Development, allowing them to be positive members of British Society.

Published 12/12/22As part of raising awareness of issues around mental health, students from the Academy were able to join sessions that were run by Craig Lingard, Head Coach of Batley Bulldogs and their all-time record try scorer. The sessions are supported by Movember, the Rugby charity which raises money to support Men's health, both physical and mental.

Published 09/12/22Students from the Academy’s Resourced Provision brought some festive cheer to their visitors when they organised and ran a Christmas Market. The market raised over £300 which will go towards the development of the Resourced Provision.
