Four members of staff, each of whom have worked at the Academy for around a quarter of a century or longer, are among those retiring from the Academy at the end of this academic year.
Our Year 10 students gained valuable insight into the working world by participating in a comprehensive work experience programme during a week off from their regular lessons. The initiative aimed to provide students with an understanding of various career options and equip them with essential skills for the future.
A series of exciting and informative media workshops, led by Michael Longhi, Talent and Inspiration Manager at Channel 4 Schools, was held for Academy students in Years 7 and 8.
Students in Years 9 and 10 recently had the incredible opportunity to visit Paris, thanks to an expertly organised trip led by Mrs Hollins, Head of Languages. The visit was designed not only to immerse students in French culture but also to encourage them to practise speaking French in real-life situations.

Year 11 students celebrated the end of their time at the Academy with a spectacular Leavers Prom. The event was a tremendous success, with students embracing the opportunity to dress elegantly as they gathered with their peers and members of staff to celebrate this significant occasion, marking the end of their journey through high school.
As students reached the end of Year 9, we hosted our first-ever 'Graduation' event at the Academy to mark their transition to GCSE or BTEC courses, which they will undertake in Years 10 and 11.
