Students’ Artwork brings festive joy to the community

We are delighted that a number of our students enthusiastically took up the challenge of producing festive designs in order to enter our Christmas card competition.

Students have created a host of stunning Christmas designs which feature on our new Community Arts board at the Academy, enabling them to be viewed by their fellow students and members of staff.

The students’ artwork stemmed from a competition to design a Christmas card for the Academy and also to submit designs for the official card for Stafflex Education Recruitment as part of their annual competition.

The competition at the Academy was organised by Art teacher, Mrs Shires-Haigh and entries were judged by Headteacher, Mr Burton and Assistant Head, Mrs Rudd.  The winning design was created by Zainab Patel of Year 11.

Zainab was awarded with a £20 gift card for her winning entry.  Further, her design has been sent to commercial printers and will be reproduced on the Academy’s official Christmas card which will be sent out to residents in the local community.

All of the entries are exquisite and create a fabulous display at the Academy. A massive thank you to all those taking part for your wonderful contributions and for the effort that you put into creating such fabulous designs.

We were also delighted to hear that Zainab was awarded a runner-up prize for her entry to the Stafflex Education Recruitment competition.
