A group of enthusiastic Year 8 and Year 9 students from the Academy interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM subjects) had the exciting opportunity to attend the Engineering Development Trust's Industrial Cadets celebration event, held at Sheffield Hallam University.
After nearly four years since initial planning through to the completion of construction, we are thrilled to announce the grand opening of our new canteen extension, a significant enhancement to the school's facilities.

In a special assembly for Year 11 students, Headteacher Mr Burton handed out letters of support and encouragement to each student in the year group.

We are incredibly proud of our talented students who recently took part in the Shakespeare Schools Festival, performing 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' on the prestigious stage of the Bradford Alhambra. Their final performance was nothing short of spectacular, demonstrating professionalism, creativity, and a true passion for theatre.

The Academy was transformed into a literary wonderland as part of World Book Day celebrations. The festivities were a vivid testament to the love of reading, with classroom doors adorned in artistic decorations and staff members donning costumes inspired by their favourite literary characters.

Students from the Academy studying Religious Education for the GCSE award had an enriching experience as they posed questions to local faith leaders in an interfaith panel discussion. The event, aimed at broadening students’ understanding of different religious beliefs and practices, welcomed Maulana Farook Yunis, Rev. Chris Hawke, a Methodist minister, and David Currie from Kirklees Interfaith.

A moving candle-lit ceremony was held at the Academy to observe Holocaust Memorial Day, honouring the memory of those who suffered under the Nazi regime. This year’s event has special significance as it marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration camp.
