    A group of Year 9 students were thrilled to go on a visit to Kirklees College, Dewsbury, where they were able to participate in an inspiring morning of hands-on learning.  The educational journey took place in the prestigious Pioneer Higher Skills Centre, where students immersed themselves in various workshops aimed at broadening their horizons and providing valuable insights into potential future career paths.

  • Year 10 students embark on a day of activities around gender equality, crime prevention and much more in their SMSC day

  • Community Iftar

    We are hosting our first ever Iftar on the evening of Thursday 14th March 2024. This is a perfect opportunity for parents and students to gain an insight into why our fellow Muslim students fast during the month of Ramadan. The Iftar event is open to all students and families (Muslim and non-Muslim) in every year group. Doors open at 5:15pm, the event will begin at 5:30pm, fast opens at 6:13pm, followed by a prayer (for those who wish to). The event will culminate with the opportunity for all attendees to join together for a hot meal.

  • Educational Excursion Expands Students' Understanding of Religious Studies

    In a bid to enrich the academic experience gained in the classroom, students from the Year 11 GCSE Religious Studies group went on a visit to Bradford Cathedral and the Muhammadi Masjid.  The trip, organised by Mrs Rudd, provided students with first-hand experience of the Christian and Islamic faiths studied as part of their GCSE course.

  • BBC Bitesize's Schools Tour Thrills Academy Students

    Students were delighted by the fabulous opportunity to join a presentation from BBC staff when the BBC Bitesize’s Schools Tour made a visit to the Academy.  After technicians had set up the hall to resemble a studio, sessions were conducted by host presenter Ross Fiddes who interviewed three celebrity panellists in front of the student audience.

  • Parliament Excursion Inspires Students

    In a recent venture organised by the Academy’s Student Leadership Coordinator Miss Healey, members of our Student Parliament embarked on an informative visit to the Houses of Parliament in London.  The primary objective of the trip was to ignite a passion for politics amongst students, discover the benefits of studying at university, encourage them to consider future careers in the field, and deepen their understanding of local political processes.
