Celebrating World Book Day 2026 with Creativity and Imagination

The Academy hosted a range of fun and creative events to celebrate World Book Day on Thursday 5th March. This annual event highlights the importance of books and reading. Schools and libraries across the country participated in various activities to mark the occasion.

Many staff members dressed as beloved literary characters, and students voted for their favourite. Each form group created eye-catching door decorations for a competition judged by Headteacher Mr Burton. He declared Miss Vachhiyat’s door to be the winning entry.

Students also participated in a design-a-bookmark competition, showcasing a wide range of impressive entries. The prize for the best design was awarded to Jacob in Year 8.

Additionally, a Bring & Buy book sale was held in the library, where students could donate unwanted books and discover new titles for just 50p.

We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who participated in and supported these activities. We were delighted to hear that students thoroughly enjoyed the contributions of our staff, and we are immensely grateful to them for their invaluable support in making this event a tremendous success.
