The Academy is privileged to have placed a bench in our Peace Garden dedicated to the memory of former student, Brandon Sheldrake, who passed away in February 2025 at the age of 30.

The bench's design and inscription were chosen by Brandon's mum, Julie, a long-serving member of the Academy's catering team.

Family members and friends gathered in the Peace Garden for the unveiling of the bench, adorned with floral tributes. Guests were welcomed by Deputy Headteacher Mr O'Hara, who reminisced about Brandon's time at school. Liam Birkinshaw, a former student and friend of Brandon, spoke on behalf of the guests.

Thank you to staff and guest who joined us for this event. The memorial bench will serve as a lasting reminder of Brandon and his connection with the Academy and the local community.
