Year 11 students celebrate the end of school with a spectacular Prom

Year 11 students celebrated the end of their time at the Academy with a spectacular Leavers Prom. The event was a tremendous success, with students embracing the opportunity to dress elegantly as they gathered with their peers and members of staff to celebrate this significant occasion, marking the end of their journey through high school.

Students arrived at the Academy not only dressed stylishly but also in luxury cars. The variety of vehicles included everything from vintage cars to limousines, and there was even a stunning-looking NCPD police car. A first at Prom night was the notable arrival of two students, each in a carriage pulled by a horse.

Deputy Head Teacher Mrs Ali, supported by several members of staff, organised the event at the Academy. At the same time, external companies transformed the main hall into a magnificent setting for the Prom, complete with elaborate decorations, sophisticated lighting, and an illuminated dance floor.

Guests were able to enjoy a fantastic array of soft drinks, buffet food and ice cream. A photo booth allowed leavers to create a postcard image of themselves and their friends as a lasting memento.

Following the buffet supper, informal awards were presented by Mrs Crowther, Student Manager, to students based on votes cast by their peers and staff members.  Congratulations go to Jacob Wroe and Myli Brown, who were crowned as Prom King and Queen, after which everyone took to the dance floor.

The Prom holds great significance for students of the Academy, as it symbolises the end of their five-year educational journey in high school.  It also serves as the last gathering of the entire year group before they disperse to different sixth forms, colleges, and workplaces in September.

As the students embark on their future studies, we extend our best wishes to all the 2025 leavers and wish them every success and happiness in the years to come.
