Green Light Teaching Alliance
We are proud to be part of a Teaching School Alliance for Yorkshire and Lancashire.
Green Light Teaching School Alliance (GLA) is a growing partnership of schools and institutions in West Yorkshire. Shelley College and Heaton Avenue Primary School were both designated as Teaching Schools in early 2014. Our passion is to ensure the children and young people in our schools achieve their personal best.
Our schools encompass the full age range from 3 to 18 and operate in a wide range of settings, including rural and urban, with a diverse range of pupil intakes. Most of our partners are judged to be at least “good” by Ofsted and many of these are ‘outstanding’. Our aim is to promote our strengths, and to enable schools in the local community and beyond to make significant improvements in the quality of their leadership, teaching, talent, staffing capacity and pupil progress.
The GLA is a provider of:
- School based initial teacher training (ITT)
- Leadership & career development training
- School to School Support (StSS)
Our aim is to inspire, to challenge and to discover. We want to inspire those we work with; pupils, teachers and leaders to achieve their personal best. We are dedicated to the development of teachers throughout their career, from Initial Teacher Training within the GLA, through to leaders of schools.
