Home Learning

Home learning is a key part of being successful in any subject.  Completing home learning tasks will help students to build links between subject components, strengthen recall and broaden knowledge. As such, students are required to complete tasks set within each subject area.

Key Stage 3 (Year 7, 8 and 9) students will be set one home learning task per subject, every two weeks. Each task will take around 30 minutes to complete.

Key Stage 4 students (Year 10 and 11) students will be set one home learning task per subjectevery week. Each task will take at least 30 minutes to complete. These will support students in developing recall skills, as well as prepare them for examinations and assessments.

There are bespoke arrangements for students supported by the Resourced Provision. Parents should contact their child's Student Manager, the SEND team, or Resource Provision staff for further clarification.

As well as being provide as paper copies, home learning tasks are also uploaded digitally to MS Teams. Subject teachers will explain the format home learning tasks should be completed in and deadlines for them to be completed within, as determined by the specific subject area.

Any queries relating to home learning should be directed to classroom teachers in the first instance.
